Terms of use
These terms are short on purpose. They cover the Tankbook app and the optional services around it (sync, restore, the extraction gateway, import parsing, feedback).
What Tankbook is
Tankbook is a car cost log for iPhone. The app keeps your data in a database on your phone and works fully without an account. Everything on your phone is yours; everything on our servers exists only because you chose to sign in or to import a file.
Accounts
An account is optional and exists for sync across your own devices, restore on a new phone, and the cloud extraction gateway. You can delete your account at any time, from the app. Deletion removes our copy of your data after a grace period; the log on your phone is not touched. See How to delete your account for exactly what happens.
Your data
Your entries, photos and files are yours. We process them only to provide the services you asked for – sync, restore, extraction, import parsing – and for nothing else. There are no ads, no server-side analytics and no content analytics. Export is always free, in CSV or JSON.
Fair use
Use Tankbook for your own records, do not abuse the services: no attempts to break access controls, to exceed the published quotas, to probe other users’ data, or to use the import or extraction endpoints as a general-purpose processing service. We may suspend an account that endangers the service for everyone else.
Availability
We aim to keep the optional services running, but they are provided as is, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. The app itself works offline and does not depend on our servers; if the services disappear, your log stays with you and export keeps working.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
These terms may change as the app changes. The current version is always on this page; a change that affects your data gets a plain-language note on this page too.
